Beihang University Signs Scholarship Cooperation Agreement with Jacques Hadamard Mathematical Foundation

Time:2024.12.15 Reading volume:

From December 9 to 15, 2024, Beihang University President Yunpeng Wang led a delegation to France and Austria for official visits. At Université Paris-Saclay, President Wang met with Chairman of the Jacques Hadamard Mathematical Foundation (FMJH) Pascal Massart, Member of the French Academy of Sciences Guy David, and faculty members from the Department of Mathematics. On behalf of Beihang University, President Wang signed a cooperation agreement for a mathematics scholarship program.

Under the agreement, FMJH will select outstanding Beihang undergraduate students majoring in mathematics to pursue master’s degrees in France over the next five years, providing them with various scholarship opportunities.

The Jacques Hadamard Mathematical Foundation (FMJH), established in 2011, was founded on the research and talent development funds of two major mathematical academic clusters in Paris: Paris-Saclay (including the former Université Paris-Sud, IHES, and École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay) and Polytechnique (centered around École Polytechnique). The foundation primarily supports mathematical research (including grants, visiting scholars, and conference organization) and talent cultivation (covering master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral programs) within these clusters.

The Sino-French Laboratory for Mathematics played an active role in facilitating the signing of this scholarship cooperation agreement.
