(1) Recruitment requirements
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree from a top-tier university, either domestic or international, and possess a high level of academic achievement and international influence in mathematics and related disciplines. They should also demonstrate significant research accomplishments or distinctive technical expertise. Young scholars should have strong potential for scientific innovation and academic development.
In principle, candidates applying for associate-level positions should be no older than 35, and those applying for full professorships should be no older than 40. In exceptional cases, the age limit may be relaxed upon review by the institute.
(2) Available Positions
Positions are available at associate and full levels in both the teaching-research track and the research-only track.
(1) Salary and Benefits
(i) Annual salary system, the selected candidates will be offered a competitive salary and benefits that enable them to focus on scientific research and teaching work.
(ii) Hangzhou Municipality provides substantial subsidies for high-level overseas talents who successfully apply for national, provincial, or municipal recognition, with maximum subsidies of 7 million, 4 million, and 2.5 million RMB, respectively. Postdoctoral researchers relocating to Hangzhou may receive up to 900,000 RMB over three years. Newly introduced full-time Ph.D. holders may receive a one-time subsidy of up to 100,000 RMB.
(2) Research Support
(i) Sufficient start-up funding: Funding can be negotiated case-by-case for academicians, 3–5 million RMB for national-level talents, 1.5 million RMB for full professors or researchers, 800,000 RMB for associate professors or researchers.
(ii) Sufficient matching funds for research: Government-sponsored or enterprise-collaborative projects are matched at a 1:1 ratio.
(iii) Full assistance in applying for talent and research projects. For national-level talents, up to 6 million RMB in matching or startup funding (excluding national support) may be provided at a 2:1 ratio.
(iv) Adequate office and laboratory space: no less than 200 square meters for full professors or researchers.
(3) Living Support
(i) Provide the purchase quota for on-campus teacher apartments or Yuhang District talent shared property houses (in accordance with government regulations, individuals can purchase 30%-80% of the property rights).
(ii) According to the classification of high-level talents in Hangzhou, government housing subsidies ranging from 2 million to 8 million RMB can be applied for to purchase commercial housing.
(iii) The institute will assist with household registration procedures in Hangzhou for the candidate's spouse and children.
(iv) Provide high-quality basic education resources to ensure children to enter kindergarten and school.
(v) The campus medical center provides 24-hour service and green channels at designated hospitals are also available.
